One of the advantages of home schooling is that we can travel any time of the year. This saves us quite a bit of money on lodging as our travel destination and time of travel is so flexible. We have decided our next trip will be to Maine. I have always wanted to go there and we have not visited many of the Northeastern states. My teenage daughter’s geography assignment for next week will be to research various attractions we may wish to see. Once she has accomplished that, she will need to find various maine hotels that are close to those locations. One of the locations is Rockland, Maine. While searching the Internet for maine hotels in Rockland, I came across the Ledges By The Bay in Rockport, Maine. This motel overlooks the ocean and has direct access to the shore. The Ledges sits on a small cove and has a tidal pool which the kids will be able to explore. Not only will she be learning history and geography, we may even squeeze some adventure in as well.
