Along with the general history of Kaycee, Wyoming located in the heart Johnson County, the Hoofprints of the Past Museum also has a wonderful history of some of America’s most interesting old western events. The exhibits in the museum include those of the Hole in the Wall hide out, Fort Reno, Dull Knife Battlefield, the Johnson County Invasion, and the Bozeman Trail. The Bozeman Trail is a trail that connected the Oregon Trail to the famous Montana gold rush. Some of the local historic exhibits it has is the original buildings of the first school house and library, the old town jail, and even an old sheep wagon. Whether you are just passing through or your vacation destination is Kaycee, Wyoming; you should make the stop to visit the Hoofprints of the Past Museum. The museum admission is free and is open seven days a week so there is no excuse to miss this wonderful learning experience.
