Returning home from your trip can be one of the hardest parts of traveling. Most travelers do not know how to deal with the shock of coming home. The longer you are away the harder the adjustment. Many travelers want to go home. That isn’t a bad thing- sometimes what we learn on the road is we don’t want to be on the road. But for most travelers returning home is bittersweet. After seeing all of your friends, the initial honeymoon phase disappears and you are left feeling empty. The forward momentum of your travels- that constant thrill of being somewhere new- is suddenly gone and there is no new place to look forward too. Just the cold reality of home. The best way to deal with that is keep yourself busy. Get a job, join a gym, or tour your own city. The best way to get over the coming home blues is to stay busy.
