Finnish company launches the new Suunto Core altimeter watch

Altimeter watches have many uses for experienced and also inexperienced walkers.  The Finnish company Suunto has for a number of years been recognized as one of the leaders in the manufacturer of altimeter watches.  They have recently released a new range of watches, Suunto Core.  Some of the uses of altimeter watches could be knowing how much height you still have to gain to reach a summit, or whether you have reached the summit at all and not just a secondary peak.  If walking up or down large slopes or ridges, accurate height knowledge is sometimes the only way of establishing your exact location.  This is especially important in poor visibility and for some climbers altimeter watches are now regarded as a vital piece of safety equipment.
