Yesterday I took my fourteen-year-old daughter to summer camp. Darcy has never been to camp before and this was her first time away from home without us. We were visiting with some staff while we waited for her counselor to show her to her cabin. Another camper arrived and greeted the man dressed in rodeo clown gear with an enthusiastic and cheerful “Bob – I am so happy to be back and you’ll never guess what I got this year!” greeting. Turns out this camper is a 4 year veteran and has been saving her money for a horse and tack. Her excitement was about her new Barrel Racing Saddle. She brought it along so she could use it at camp. Loved that story and we could tell we were leaving our daughter in very competent hands.
