Some of my favorite types of parrot toys are the ones that allow a bird to mimic natural behavior. For example, toys that allow your bird or parrot to preen something similar to feathers is a great way for a single bird to participate in a natural activity. However, preening toys are no substitute for the single kept bird. Every day a good head scratching will reassure your bird that it is not alone and will help to build a stronger bond. Preening toys may also help to prevent feather destructive behavior and other abnormal types of activity. The bottom line is, no toy can substitute a bond whether from a human or another bird.
