My brother lives in a prestigious area and he has several visible security cameras outside his home since this can be a deterrent in itself. He also put hidden cameras inside his home, he showed me one that was an Alarm Clock Spy Camera, and it actually was a functional radio and clock. I found it amazing all the gadgets he had around his house that had little cameras in them, but as he mentioned, it can make a difference in catching the thieves. If anyone did break in, they could be identified on the tape and it can help catch them and prosecute.
