I find it difficult to understand some fitness mantras: Do heart-pumping cardio until you’re exhausted and practically blue in the face. Then I find out that all that hard work doesn’t really burn fat, just basically my last meal. No wonder afterward all you feel is tired and weak with hunger instead of energized and strong. This is where the Online Fitness Reporter philosophy picks up. Instead of wasting your time with too much cardio and not enough of other types of exercise, they advocate strength training to build lean muscle. Strength training is challenging, to be sure, but it is energizing instead of exhausting and actually burns fat.
