Bunions A.K.A. Hallux abducto valgus

Hallux abducto valgus is commonly called bunions sometimes. The name is derived from the hallux which is the technical term for the big toe while valgus and abducto both refer to the twisting and leaning toward the lesser toes. So meaning there is the involvement of the big toe that twists and sometimes leans on the remaining toes. Sometimes it can happen differently. This is then accompanied by an enlargement of the joint at the base of the big toe called the bunion and is caused by many factors that is related to poor shoe fit, poor foot biomechanics combined with a hereditary tendency. This condition can be prevented by apparently treated.
