The Texas Secretary of State sets forth all the requirements to form a Texas LLC in the business laws of the state. For some reason, Texas did not follow the easy and less disclosure philosophy of other states like Georgia. Texas LLC requirements require more than just an acceptable LLC name and a registered agent. You also must disclose the name and addresses of members if the LLC is member managed or managers in the event of a Texas manager managed LLC. This is not well liked by those business owners who desire to keep ownership and management of their small business private.
