All of my life my parents have been great with their finances. They had great credit scores because they never over extended themselves or lived beyond their means. At least not until they retired. Once they retired, it seems that their spending went out of control. My once-thrifty parents were splurging on traveling and gadgets for the house. I assume it was all of that free time they had on their hands.
