Blog site poll: video resumes

One of the up-and-coming strategies for tech savvy jobseekers today is to post a video resume — a short video where you, the job seeker, describe your background and qualifications. I guess the concept behind this approach is that it gives a prospective employer a better “feel” for you as a job candidate — you can do a more thorough job of selling them on your qualifications than would be possible with a standard resume. At least that is the assumption — whether employers are willing to jump on the bandwagon, however, remains to be seen. Many companies have a very conservative corporate culture and it may take quite some time before these companies are comfortable with this new approach.
