One huge downside to becoming a truck driver is that most trucking jobs take you away from your family for long periods of time. There are many men who have fallen into prostitution and other unsavory activities, simply because they are away from their spouses for such a long time. Now, many trucking jobs have the option of travelling with your spouse. I can see great advantages to this option if your spouse is also a lover of being on the open road and if you can get along in close quarters for long periods of time. It is at least a great option for long-distance truckers.
