Tabla drum – quite a surprise!

My buddy Sam was always my fiercest competition growing up and especially when it came to matters of the drum. Oh, we were probably of the exact same talent and skill level, and because of this we constantly pushed each other to the limits of our skills. Yet, one day he decided to go out and purchase a Tabla drum. I’d never seen one before, and neither had he, and we both discovered that this drum is far different from other membrane drums like congas and bongos. This drum takes far longer and much more practice to master, because as we found out the hard way, playing it incorrectly can easily damage the drum. It was quite a surprise!
