A long time ago, my fiance asked me to take her somewhere exciting for her birthday. I didn’t have much money at the time, but know that I had to travel to Laos for a business trip. While there, I discovered a beautiful Lao handmade silk weaving that I knew she would adore. As I made the purchase, a scraggly old man came up to me. He had little clothes on, and you could tell he had no money. Taking pity on him, I gave him the silk weaving and thought nothing else of it. Later that year, we got a knock on the door at Christmas there was the scraggly man, all clean shaven and dressed in a suit! In his hand was the weaving I had given him so long ago! Turns out he won some lottery or something and wanted to return the favor…

The canyon is a result of over 6 million years of erosion which started when the ice of the last ice age melted at a rapid pace and the water washed away the earths surface in an on going and continual process. I have to admit: I am a computer geek.
